Position Information 

The Ponds High School, located in the suburb of The Ponds in the north-west of Sydney is a 7-12 comprehensive high school that will have 1980 students in Years 7-12, 2022. Fifty-six per cent of these students come from a non-English speaking background and 1.3% identify as ATSI. The school shares a site with Riverbank Public school and is a part of innovative and energetic community approach to teaching and learning. The school has developed outstanding teaching and learning programs including; a strong welfare approach to student wellbeing, a culturally inclusive program and support for the creative and performing arts. The Ponds High School has two support classes, a commitment to HPGE (High Potential and Gifted Education) and has an active BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) program using the learning platform CANVAS. The Stage 5 and 6 elective structure provides a wide choice for students. Most staff in the CAPA faculty support each other and teach other CAPA subjects including Visual Arts and Drama.

  
Specific Selection Criteria 

Approval to teach Music. Approval and/or willing to teach Entertainment Industry - General (VNG) and Extension Music.

Demonstrated ability to write and deliver effective learning programs and assessments with the ability to use data to inform best practice.

Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills which build positive relationships with students, staff and parents.

 Demonstrated ability to use technology to monitor and engage student learning.

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
