St Machar Academy is an inner-city, multi-racial, non-denominational, comprehensive secondary school.  The current role is 836. The school is situated on St Machar Drive north of Aberdeen University campus and it serves a wide catchment area.

The school has a range of pupils from those who attain at the highest level to those who require significant additional support. The full range of subjects is taught and presented at National 5, Higher and Advanced Higher. A large number of pupils do not have English as their first language and 33 different languages are currently represented in the school.

High quality Teaching and Learning, supported by a clear focus on Continuing Professional Learning and offering pupils a wide range of additional learning activities have all helped towards improving attainment.

There is also a clear focus on ‘Getting it right for every Child.’

Partnership working is well developed with an excellent range of very committed partners who work closely with the school. An idea of the wide range of activities can be gained from the School’s website www.st-macharacademy.aberdeen.sch.uk
