The role

Vision for Education are searching for a Teacher of Art and Catering to work within a Secure Unit in the Northumberland Local Authority. The ideal candidate will have previous work experience in schools and/or other support environments and will be confident working with individuals who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health Difficulties as well as challenging behaviours. 

Experience in teaching Art and Catering/Food Technology will be beneficial to your application, and also having a Child and Adult DBS on the Online Update Service.

Requirements

To be considered for the Teacher of Art and Catering role you will:

  • Have taught Art/Catering to those with Severe Behaviours and Social, Emotional and Mental Health Difficulties
  • Be versatile, flexible, confident and have the ability to tailor your teaching/support style to engage students with a wide range of special educational needs.
  • Be committed to the role and will be willing to plan and prepare.
  • Have a positive, flexible and upbeat mentality and a genuine interest in pursuing a career working with individuals who have special educational needs.
  • Be available Monday-Friday between the hours of 8.30-4.30.
