Farney Close is a mixed independent residential school for children aged 11-18 who are experiencing Social, Emotional and Mental Health Difficulties. The school also supports pupils who experience Asperger or Tourette’s Syndrome, Moderate Learning Difficulties, Dyslexia or Moderate Speech and Language Difficulties. The school is an established and very successful school, and was judged “Outstanding” by Ofsted in the last educational inspection.
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed teacher to coordinate our Art and Media Department. The successful applicant will need to be qualified to teach both Key Stages 3&4. The school follows the National Curriculum, offering a variety of qualifications from GCSE to Entry Level Pathways, and therefore applicants will need to flexible in their approach to ensure that they meet the individual needs of the students.
We are looking to expand creative and digital media as part of our continued curriculum development.
Having prior experience of working with SEMH pupils is advantageous.
The school is dedicated to offering a comprehensive induction program and continued professional development for staff.
