Job overview

We require a well-qualified, enthusiastic and innovative art and design specialist to join our successful art and design faculty. As a team we pride ourselves on inspiring young people with a positive experience of art and design through excellent teaching, and work collaboratively to sustain a culture of very high expectations for both staff and students. This is reflected in our consistently high uptake at KS4, and our exceptional GCSE results.

We are looking for a candidate with a specialism in Art and Design who is able to teach Product Design at KS4. You would also be required to teach KS3 design, resistant materials/CAD/CAM, and KS3 Art. We are looking to expand our GCSE offer and hope to appoint a teacher with the drive to develop a design course that utilizes your expertise, our facilities and compliments our current offer.

This post is suitable for an NQT or an experienced teacher.

Chesterton Community College is a co-educational secondary academy located in Cambridge, educating around 1,000 students aged xxx. The school converted to academy status in 2011. 

Chesterton Community College holds specialist status in humanities, and has seen extensive redevelopment and modernisation since its founding. In 2004 its opened a brand-new sports complex, complete with gym, swimming pool and café.

Chesterton Community College highly values its non-selective ethos, going to great lengths to ensure that students are given proper provision and care regardless of background or ability. The school is known for its English-language provision for students who have learning difficulties or who are learning English as an additional language.
