Examination results are impressively high throughout the Creative and Performing Arts faculty. This academic year we launched GCSE and A level Textiles to complement our existing visual arts offering of GCSE and Post 16 options (Art & Design, Fine Art, Photography) Further growth within our Performing Arts suite of launching also GCSE Dance and A level Theatre Studies enrich our established and strong offering of Music, Drama and Performing Arts. Our students also enjoy success with LAMDA, ABRSM and Arts Award and thrive with the many opportunities to take part in local and national festivals and competitions. Achievement and participation within the Arts at St Joseph’s College are recognised by all stakeholders and the wider community, as essential ingredients to nurturing happy confident resilient learners.
Being part of the Creative & Performing Art Faculty is busy and highly rewarding. Throughout the year, there is a wide variety of arts events including art exhibitions, scholars’ exhibitions and cultural trips and visits. The annual College musical is a huge success and operates at an equal standard of a west end show. The Easter Extravaganza brings together poetry, literature, dance, music, art and drama. The performance is a celebration of the children’s engagement and experiences within the Arts in front of a large audience of friends, family and local community. A further highlight of the College’s calendar is the annual Arts Festival. The festival runs over a week enabling every child regardless of ability to participate in professional, rich and wide ranging art forms every day.
With effect from Monday 25th April 2022, we are seeking a maternity placement, Teacher of Art & Design to join our dedicated and talented Creative & Performing Arts Faculty. An ability to teach Photography will be an advantage.
Should you be successful and called to interview you will be required to bring with you a portfolio to showcase your teaching and learning skillset. We also welcome seeing your own professional work.
