An exciting opportunity has arisen for an outstanding teacher to join our thriving and successful Trust to teach Art and Design in Key Stages 3 and 4 at Langdon Academy. Specifically, we’re looking for someone with clear expertise in Textiles, but with the ability and desire to teach a range develop excellent work in a range of media.
Langdon Academy is a large 4-16 school, with over 1700 students in the secondary phase, and is part of Brampton Manor Trust. We work in close partnership with Brampton Manor Academy (an outstanding 11-18 Academy), which is the other school within our multi-academy trust (MAT).
There is great spirit, energy and optimism in the school since joining the MAT in 2014 which has led to substantial improvements and successes in every aspect of school life, placing the school “well above average”, with Progress 8 now in the top 8% of schools in England. However, this is by no means sufficient, given the potential of our young people. Our assessments indicate that our whole-school 2018 data will show a significant improvement on all previous performance levels.
The Arts are important to us at Langdon and new developments within the Visual Arts curriculum, with the introduction of Textiles, Photography and 3D options are generating real energy in the department. This appointment is a golden opportunity to strengthen our team further with a new, talented and enthusiastic Art Textiles specialist and if that sounds like you, we’d be keen to hear from you. You will be joining a strong team of subject specialists, with highly energetic and inspirational leaders to support you through the next stages of your professional development.
The scale of Langdon and its membership of Brampton Manor Trust, provides considerable opportunity for further development, including the potential to do some teaching within our Primary phase.
This post would suit a NQT or a more experienced colleague looking to broaden their experience. A TLR point may be available to take on additional responsibility within the department / school.
