Teacher of Art and Design
Required for September 2019
We are seeking the expertise of an Art and Design Teacher to support our thriving department. The suitable candidate will have a background in Art, preferably Graphics, and should be confident in delivering engaging lessons in one or more of the following materials: wood, polymers, metal, card and boards.
The department is embracing the recent changes to the GCSE requirements and implementing the aspects of art and design across KS3 and KS4. Our vision is to embed a culture of creative design and practical making with a range of materials and secure knowledge of the current and modern technological approaches to problem solving.
The design faculty is housed in purpose built workshops, suitable for delivering a range of materials. We also have a laser cutter and 3D printer to support our students in accessing CAD/CAM. Our department is supported by an extremely competent technician.
Gosford Hill School is situated in Kidlington, on the north western edge of Oxford near to the new Oxford Parkway Station (a 50 minute journey from London), with ample staff parking and on the main bus route into Oxford. We work closely with Oxford University and Oxford Brookes University. We are also fortunate to be at the gateway to the rural Cotswolds. We prioritise staff well being and development and our ‘Golden Ticket’ scheme rewards strong staff attendance. Visits to the school, by arrangement, are welcome.
