Job overview

The British School of Córdoba is a highly successful, lively, 2 form entry, 3-18 school which achieved BSO status in 2014. We teach the full national curriculum to IGCSE and A levels (CIE and Pearson). Our excellent academic record for university entry has been built on a philosophy that believes happy children learn best; we work closely with our pupils, we provide a stimulating, varied curriculum, we foster their talents and mentor them, we differentiate learning, work hard and we help them realise that they can achieve more than they may believe.

We are a ‘Sing Up!’ school, we are expecting to gain validation in March for providing a values based education and in March 2016 we were identified in the 'El Mundo' newspaper as being amongst the best international schools in Spain. Visitors frequently comment on the friendly, purposeful atmosphere and the obvious pleasure the children take in their education.

The successful candidate will join a team of hard working, talented teachers who enjoy the opportunity to teach the National Curriculum to motivated students in the context of the relative freedom offered by the international setting. Córdoba is an exceptionally beautiful city full of Andalusian history and charm.

Values and Vision

The mission of the school is to offer an education that is both personalised as British and educating children in all different ways through ensuring they approach learning with a suitable interest, responsibility and effort. A truly international and outward-looking school, the British curriculum is complemented by a study of Spanish language and culture.

BSO

“This is a good school that gives its students an effective education that is aligned well to the National Curriculum for England and Wales. As a result, students gain a good understanding of how British society works, enabling them to move back to the UK for further study if they so wish. The school also provides effective opportunities for students to enter Spanish universities. Students’ welfare, health and safety are promoted very effectively and in some respects the work the school does in this area is outstanding.”
