We are seeking a full-time Art and Graphics Teacher who shares an enthusiasm for the arts and strives to broaden horizons and inspire young people every day.  We are looking for someone who can bring with them ideas, energy and enthusiasm and who has a commitment to raising attainment.  The ideal candidate would be ambitious and have the ability and experience to teach across a range of media and Key Stages. 

The Oxford Academy has dedicated facilities in the visual arts which provide opportunities to explore digital media, ceramics, textiles, graphic design and fine arts.  Students are taught an array of 2D & 3D skills as well as analytical and critical processes in the development of their work and others’.  It is essential for a successful candidate to continue to offer this breadth and depth as well as meet the individual needs of their students as they support and challenge them. 

We welcome applications from all levels of experience including NQTs for which we offer an excellent induction programme.  For experienced teachers we offer staff development and the opportunity to work with an experienced team of Art Educators who are passionate about the arts, our students and the community.

• Strong subject and curriculum knowledge with the ability to effectively teach a range of interesting and well planned lessons in Art and Graphics;  

• Knowledge and experience of Photoshop;  

• Have the ability to develop community links and wider cultural experiences i.e. Art trips, exhibitions;  

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to promote high quality teaching and learning, taking responsibility for students’ progress;  

• Have the ability to support, challenge and inspire our students, encouraging them to achieve the best they can through the promotion of outstanding teaching and learning;  

• Have the ability to be a team player who is prepared to go the extra mile to support students and who will enjoy the challenges of these roles;  

•  Have the ability to embrace and contribute to the vision and direction of the department as we strive for further success together;  

• Have the ability to play a full role in maintaining and enhancing the current high standards in the department, modeling positive learning behavior, having high expectations of the students in all aspects of their learning;
