In 2017, we achieved our best ever A-Level and GCSE results which now place Beacon Academy as the top performing school in Sussex and in the top 3% of schools nationally. Furthermore, in June 2017 we were one of only sixty-five schools nationwide to be awarded National Teaching School and National Support School designations, taking a leading role in recruiting and training new entrants to the profession. We work alongside our alliance partner schools to provide high-quality school-led teacher training and professional development for teachers at all stages of their career. Our Headteacher, Ms Robinson, is also a designated National Leader of Education and a Consultant Headteacher for East Sussex County Council.
We are a split-site, rural, mixed 11-18 non-selective converter academy with approximately 1,300 students, including over 250 students in our Sixth Form. We are situated centrally in Crowborough, on the outskirts of the Ashdown Forest, an area of outstanding natural beauty. We are close to Tunbridge Wells and the South Coast.
