Teacher of Art / Art Therapy

Pay – MPS/UPS + SEND 1 (PT 0.8)

Sky Academy is a successful, oversubscribed, special school for students with SEMH and SLCN.  We are looking for an enthusiastic and young-person centred teacher of art and art therapy. The successful candidate will be based within our bespoke learning environment with access to a kiln room. We are looking for candidates with a breadth of experience of working with young people, who are enthusiastic, resilient, highly motivated and are passionate about their subject and working with young people.

The successful candidate will make an important contribution to the continued development of education and therapy through the medium of art at Sky, set high expectations and provide expertise and passion in equal measures. Their practice will ensure the best possible KS4 outcomes enabling our young people to achieve the skills and qualifications that will open doors for the rest of their lives.

You will be able to demonstrate the enthusiasm and tenacity needed to work in a sometimes challenging but highly rewarding environment, alongside maintaining the highest professional standards.
