Job overview

We are looking to expand and invest in our art team to grow and diversify our provision. You have the unique opportunity to share the excitement of making a real difference for our students. You will be joining our creative, dynamic and experienced team. In October 2015 Ofsted confirmed Bedford Academy to be a ‘good school with outstanding leadership’ where our ‘NQTs are exceptionally well supported’. For us attitude, ideas, potential and teaching skill are important, we will actively support your development.

As an Art Teacher working within our Arts and Sports Learning Village you could teach across the age range and try out new ideas in our supportive teaching environment. We’re looking for an ambitious, talented teacher looking for an excellent stepping stone for leadership roles in the future and who shares our belief in the highest standards of academic achievement in an inclusive setting. You will also have the opportunity to be part of enrichment activities across the Academy.

We moved to our brand new building in 2012 with superb teaching facilities. Now, as a fully formed secondary school we are on the exciting journey to become an outstanding school for our community. There are significant opportunities for your development through HEART Academies Trust Family of Schools and this role will prepare you, should you wish, for Leadership or Teaching and Learning Roles within the family. The HEART Academies Trust provides high quality professional development for all staff.

We wish to appoint someone who has:

· Excellent teaching, reflective and interpersonal skills

· Ability to form outstanding student relationships

· The ability to work as part of teams and be flexible

· High quality organisational skills

· The ability and drive to improve all student outcomes

· Good subject knowledge

As a member of Bedford Academy staff team we can offer:

· Excellent professional development opportunities and career progression

· A friendly and supportive working environment

· Opportunities to play a strategic role in the evolution of Bedford Academy

· A modern, state of the art working environment

If you are passionate about improving outcomes for students and you are looking for an exciting opportunity to have a real impact in a fast-paced, innovative environment, then this could be the job for you.

HEART Academies Trust is committed to safeguarding the welfare of young people and expects all staff to share this commitment. All appointments are subject to DBS checks and excellent references.
