Teacher of Art
Required for September 2018
“This outstanding school exemplifies the very best in educational provision”*
Judged ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted, Yardleys is a heavily oversubscribed 11-16 multi-ethnic stand-alone academy with 900 students on roll. The School is ambitious and well managed with an inspiring learning environment. Teachers benefit from generous non-contact time, weekly training and smaller than average class sizes.
The collaborative ethos which permeates all parts of the school is summed up by our motto “Working together for a better future”. This results in a highly supportive community, which allied with excellent student behaviour and a well organised school, allows teachers to focus on their teaching and improving their practice.
The Art department is creative, well-resourced and a popular choice for students at Key Stage 4. Students and staff are ambitious in what they can achieve. We are currently delivering AQA GCSE Art, Craft and Design. We wish to appoint an ambitious and creative Teacher of Art who is enthusiastic about developing the curriculum to further progress student skills, particularly in drawing. Knowledge of the specification would be beneficial alongside being an excellent classroom practitioner.
NQTs are very welcome to apply and will be offered the option of starting in July.
Yardleys offers a commitment to professional development opportunities, an excellent induction programme, a healthcare package, well behaved students who are keen to learn and state of the art facilities.
