THE ROLE:
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, highly motivated and inspirational teacher to join an excellent, supportive and well-resourced department. This post is suitable for an experienced or newly qualified teacher wishing to join a team who ensure a high standard of teaching, learning and achievement.
The Art department is an exciting and dynamic environment with creative endeavours which are constantly evolving. We thrive on exploring creativity through risk taking, allowing our students to take ownership of their outcomes and express themselves through a variety of media: drawing, painting, printmaking, textiles, sculpture/3D and digital photography. We are here to invest in our young people and support them through the exciting challenges art can offer.
ABOUT YOU:
We expect that you will be dedicated to ensuring that all pupils achieve academic excellence, be committed to the value of children as individuals and have a clear understanding of curriculum initiatives. You will have a clear understanding of what represents “excellence” and “quality” and will settle for nothing less and will be confident working in an independent capacity, as well as collaboratively.

Smithills School is a mixed, non-selective, non-denominational secondary school situated in Bolton, Lancashire. There are approximately 1200 students at the school, between the ages of 11-16.
Smithills School converted to academy status in 2014 and is a member of the ConcertED multi-academy trust and the Bolton Learning Alliance.
