We are currently seeking a well-qualified and experienced teacher from September 2021 to join the Art Department and support maintaining the excellent results being achieved at all levels.

The ideal candidate must be able to teach Art at GCSE and AS / A level and enjoy teaching to all age ranges, 11-18. They will be adaptable, confident in the use of ICT Art packages, possess excellent communicational and organisational skills. They will work closely with the team, sharing excellent pedagogy and technical knowledge within the vast range of media and techniques covered in the art curriculum.

A willingness to participate in extracurricular activities and contribute to the wider life of the school is essential. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual to work with talented pupils and dedicated staff. The successful candidate will be a forceful advocate for Art with high expectations of what pupils can achieve, but will also see the arts as a subject that makes a positive difference to the self-esteem and cultural empowerment of pupils.

Portfolio evidence of teaching activities, project outcomes and personal art is required.

High-level skills in Painting, Ceramics and History of Art are sought.

Experience of and adaptability in textiles, 3D sculpture and a broad range of media would be advantageous.

A drive and interest to further develop techniques and skills new and old.

The School has its own salary scales which are above the national rates.
