Stanley Park High is a friendly, welcoming school, committed to educating the ‘whole child’ to improve life chances, while securing the best possible outcomes for our students.  We combine a commitment to academic excellence with the offer of a broad curriculum designed to prepare children for the future, giving them the skills they need beyond the classroom and into the world of work.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our growing Visual Arts department.  The Visual Arts department has a variety of creative spaces in which we deliver lessons, ranging from the large art studio, kiln room, design and technology workshop and a unique “maker space” with specialist art equipment.  We are also fortunate enough to have an artist in residence who works across the whole school making it an exciting and creative place to work.

Courses taught within the visual arts department are GCSE Fine Art, Textiles, Photography and 3D Art and Design.  The key focus of the role will be:

• To teach high quality lessons of Art, Design and Technology at Key Stage 3 and 4 developing key knowledge and skills

• To take a lead on developing the GCSE 3D Art and Design course

• To develop and promote the school’s “makerspace” facility

• Promote the importance of Art, Design and Technology through an exciting and engaging curriculum combined with opportunities for students to engage with the subject outside of the classroom

You will have strong skills and experience in any of the following: graphics, ceramics, design and technology, product design, fine art or textiles.  This post offers the prospect to make a significant impact and help shape and develop the Visual Arts department for the future.

Our preferred method of application is by email to recruitment@stanleyparkhigh.org.uk
