RDFZ King’s College School has been formed through partnership between the prestigious King’s College School, Wimbledon, the highly successful Chinese education group, Dipont Education and The High School Affiliated to Renmin University (RDFZ), one of China’s leading schools. Opened in September 2018, RDFZ King’s currently has almost 1500 students on roll and will grow to serve over 3,000 students from 3 to 18 years of age.

Art is a particular strength in the school and the department is growing from four teachers to eight teachers in the new academic year. 25% of students in Grade 10 and Grade 11 are opting for IGCSE and A Level Art and the school will be offering a new A Level in Media & Digital Design additionally.  The IB Diploma Programme  will be introduced from 2022.

About the Role

Reporting to the Head of Art (whole school), successful applicants will join an exciting and dynamic department that is growing from strength to strength. Students' engagement in the art programme has been exceptional, with over a quarter of students opting for Art IGCSE & A Level.

Opportunities exist in the middle school and senior school, dependent upon successful candidates' preferences and strengths. The introduction of digital design, Chinese art and other specialists areas allows for a very varied programme for teachers and students.  The implementation of the IB Diploma Programme from 2022 creates additional opportunities. Facilities are exceptional and access to resources excellent.

A specialist in media and digital design, in addition to an artist with a background in Chinese art will be required alongside generalist practitioners. This is a great time to join an exciting, dynamic and growing department.

About Hangzhou Dipont School of Arts and Science

The campus consists of: 

  • A pre-school for pupils aged 3 to 6 years catering for Chinese and expatriate children, offering a bilingual programme based on international and Chinese curricula. 
  • A Chinese elementary and junior high school for Chinese students in Grades 1 to 9 who study the mandatory Chinese curriculum delivered in both Chinese and English, with a modern pedagogical approach and additional English language instruction. 
  • An international section for expatriate students from Grade 1, offering a British style curriculum leading to IGCSEs with additional Chinese language instruction. 
  • An international college for both Chinese and expatriate students, providing IGCSE and A Level courses with potential for the IB Diploma Programme to be implemented in the future.

The brand new campus provides first-class, modern school buildings and state-of-the-art facilities including a large multi-purpose sports hall, a 50 metre indoor swimming pool, fitness centre, playing fields, 400m running track, performing arts auditorium with a capacity for 800 people and boarding facilities.
