Pay Range: Teachers Main/Upper Pay Scale

£25,714 - £41,604 (Point M1 – UPR3)

Start Date: September 2021

The Role

We are seeking an outstanding individual to carry out the functions of a teacher in accordance with the Teacher Standards and the stated aims and objectives of The School and the Department.

The school can offer:

• 3 large practical art rooms

• established, high performing department

• good uptake at GCSE & A Level

• full time technical support

• exhibition space

• strong team / experienced staff

• range of specialisms in print, paint, clay.

• excellent staff development/support for NQT

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

• In consultation with the Head of Department, to plan, design and produce teaching materials and resources which are appropriate to age and ability

• Manage the classroom and teaching equipment so as to create a positive learning environment which makes effective use of available resources.

• Establish constructive relationships and communicate with other agencies/professionals, in liaison with the teacher, to support achievement and progress of students

Harwich and Dovercourt High School (HDHS) is a popular, mixed 11-18 comprehensive situated on the north-east Essex coast. As one of the only Reading Schools in the country, we are bursting with innovative practice designed to nourish a love of literature and this forms a cornerstone of our curriculum in all subject areas.
