Job overview

The Farnborough Academy opened in September 2014 and officially became part of the Trent Academies Group in January 2015. Significant improvements have already been realised and we are proud of how rapidly the quality of teaching and the behaviour of pupils has developed. We are now seeing an academy emerging that the whole community can be very proud of.

The Academy is part of the Trent Academies Group which consists of Rushcliffe School, an outstanding academy, Arnold Hill Academy, rapidly improving and Farnborough Academy. It is anticipated that from September 2018 the TAG academies will merge with the Spencer Academies Trust, giving all staff and pupils wider opportunities for networking and sharing good practice.

We offer the opportunity for the successful candidate to develop as a highly effective art teacher working in a vibrant and forward thinking faculty which has developed links with the wider arts community in Nottingham and beyond.

The successful candidate will

  • understand how important art is for our pupils to be able to explore the world around them and to express themselves.
  • seek and promote the very best opportunities for young people to achieve things that they may not have thought possible.
  • work collaboratively with their faculty colleagues and across the whole curriculum.

Most of all they will have the desire to be part of a Multi-Academy Trust committed to making a difference to communities on a local level by improving the life chances of all their young people.

Informal discussions and visits to the Academy are welcome. Please contact Julia West j.west@thefarnboroughacademy.com and she will make arrangements with you.

Closing Date: 12 Noon 28th June 2018

Trent Academies Group is committed to safeguarding the welfare of its students and the successful applicant will be subject to an enhanced DBS Disclosure.
