About Ormiston Maritime Academy

Situated close to the coastal resort of Cleethorpes and with the beautiful Lincolnshire Wolds easily accessible, we are an academy with a strong ethos of teamwork and support with excellent CPD opportunities both within the academy and the Trust.

We are a truly inclusive school; a caring community, who support and work collaboratively in the best interests of every young person to support them on their learning journey. Through our curriculum, we aim to provide an excellent and aspirational education for all our students preparing them for success in education and life. Our dedicated, specialist curriculum and pastoral staff work together to ensure that the learning and pastoral needs of each individual child can be met.

Ormiston Trust is fast becoming one of the largest sponsors of academies in the country sponsoring 43 academies nationwide, comprising 32 secondary schools, six primary schools, four alternative provision schools and one special school providing a network of academies who share the same values.

Fiona Ormiston Murray was a young woman with her whole life ahead of her. She and her new husband were tragically killed in a car crash on their honeymoon in 1969. The Murray family set up a Trust in her name and now Ormiston’s programmes support thousands of children, young people and their families all over the UK.

It established Ormiston Academies Trust to provide transformational learning and the highest levels of achievement for students and the communities in which they live, improving performance in its academies. Ormiston Academies are encouraged to collaborate and share best practice. This process has been successful in ensuring rapid and quality-driven improvements for the entire family of Ormiston Academies.

Ormiston Academies Trust Mission and Values:

We are committed to deepening the trust’s impact on children and young people, and improving our schools. Over the coming years we want this impact to be realised in tangible improvements to outcomes. Download the OAT strategy below for more information.

We believe that strength and impact are maximised by working as one team – from which comes our commitment to achieving more together – underpinned by our values, which inform all that we do.

The Trust is an ethical sponsor, committed to improving the life chances of children and young people.
