The Emmbrook School is a co-educational 11-18 comprehensive school which has been at the heart of the community for over 50 years. We are a good school with the ambition to become a truly great school. Our mission is to secure our position as the first choice school for Wokingham parents, students and staff.
Our actions are guided by our five core values:
- Learning – we are a learning institution, where everyone is always focussed on learning.
- Expectations – we have high expectations of performance for everyone.
- Family – we are diverse, inclusive, caring and respectful.
- Mindset – we are positive, flexible, resilient and engaged.
- Feedback – we value feedback from others in order to improve.
We give our teachers the freedom to plan and teach lessons that deliver outstanding learning for our students. We are seeking colleagues who strive to find new and creative ways to engage learners so that they thrive. We support each other, so that we all develop and grow professionally.
The school has recently benefitted from significant investment in facilities, with new buildings to house both the English & Languages and Maths & Computing faculties. We are continuing our programme of investment, with upgrades to our sporting facilities planned in the near future.
The Emmbrook is located in a quiet residential suburb of the historic market town of Wokingham. Wokingham is a thriving town, which regularly tops nation-wide polls of the best places to live in the UK. In addition to a wide range of local amenities, there are excellent transport links, including to nearby Reading and London.
The school is committed to playing an active role in the community which we serve and our students regularly support the work of local primary schools. We are committed to fundraising for local and national charities, notably through our traditional fundraising week. Our students also support students from Addington School, a nearby special school, with an annual trip to our outward bound centre, Tirabad, located in the beautiful Brecon Beacons.
We are looking to appoint energetic, committed and supportive individuals with a positive approach, as we continue to go from strength to strength. We look forward to meeting you.
