Biology Teacher – Part Time.

Ealing Independent College wishes to appoint a talented and enthusiastic part-time teacher of Biology for January 2020 to join a thriving and expanding college achieving exceptional examination results.

Experience of teaching Edexcel IGCSE Specification Biology and Salters-Nuffield Biology at A-Level is desirable although not necessary.

Following consistently strong performance year on year, the College produced its best results ever in 2015 with, 32% of A-Level students having achieved AAB or higher in at least two facilitating subjects. A third of departing students in the sixth form secured places at Russell Group universities. A-level results in the subsequent three years - 2016, 2017 and 2018 have maintained these excellent standards. Last year the College achieved a Progress (value added) score of +0.5 and an average grade of B-. Progress scores over the last five years have been consistently in high positive territory.

Class sizes are small, with 5-12 students in a group.

Full-time staff are expected to enter into the full life of the College. The successful candidate might also be responsible for a form group. Classes run from 8:50am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday. Staff are expected to be in College for 38 hours a week, of which 25 hours are contact time/teaching time. Most classes are 80 minutes in duration to allow for practical sessions.
