Winchester College seeks to appoint a well-qualified, able and inspiring part-time teacher of Biology for the 2017/2018 academic year. The successful candidate, who will teach up to IGCSE (Years 9, 10 & 11), will be energetic and enthusiastic about promoting this popular subject. 

The College, which was founded in 1382, is a boys’ boarding school of 700 pupils. We are committed to the highest standards of academic excellence, first-class pastoral care and the maintenance of a broad and balanced liberal education for all our pupils. Through our non-examined general cultural studies programme (known as Division) we offer an approach to education which develops an intelligent and critical awareness of the world, strong communication skills and a confident ability to think independently and with originality.

This post will appeal to excellent teachers who will relish the challenge of working with able and articulate pupils in a historic site of unparalleled architectural beauty in the heart of Winchester. 

The position will be for up to 16 35-minute periods per week and may involve some Saturday morning teaching.

Situated in Hampshire, Winchester College is an independent, secondary school for pupils aged between 13 and 18. The school was founded in 1382 by the Bishop of Winchester, William of Wykeham. It was expanded in the 19th Century to accommodate the popular demand in the local society. At the moment, there are over 700 pupils enrolled at the boarding school.
