Job overview
A well-qualified Teacher of Biology is required for September 2018. The Biology department is highly successful at all levels within an exceptionally strong Science department. The School has a long-standing record of high academic achievement (89% of A Level entries gained A* to B grades in 2017) and there is also much happening in terms of extra-curricular activities. We expect all staff to be fully involved in School life. The post will involve teaching Biology from Y8 to Y13 and general Science to Y6 and/or Y7. The ability to teach Chemistry and/or Physics to Y9 would be advantageous. The post would be suitable for an NQT (we provide statutory induction) or a colleague with more experience.
The School occupies fine, modern buildings near St. Paul’s Cathedral overlooking the Thames, opposite the Tate Modern.
Salary will be paid on the CLS scale (£33,450 - £54,850 pa 2017-2018).

City of London School is an independent school based in London for boys aged 10-18.
The school site is situated by the Thames. It has over 20 acres of sports pitches. It was established in 1834 and moved to its present site in 1986. The school is governed by a board and by the City of London Corporation, which appoints its governors.
