We are a selective state grammar school with academy status situated in the small market town of Newport in rural Shropshire. It is a boy’s school with co-educational Sixth Form, although it will become co-educational in Year 7 from September 2024. There are currently about 1050 pupils on roll; approximately 100 of these are boarders. The Sixth Form has about 370 students of whom about 120 are girls.

We are seeking to recruit an outstanding Teacher of Biology, who can teach pupils from Year 7 through to the Upper Sixth. The successful applicant will have a good degree in a relevant subject and will be passionate about the role and about their teaching. We also wish to appoint someone who is interested in being involved in the wide range of extra-curricular activities that are an important part of the life of this school.

This is a temporary post to cover maternity leave from September 2023 to May 2024 (subject to review).
