Job overview

Box Hill School is a co-educational community of 425 girls and boys aged 11 to 18, whose educational ideals and practice are designed to get the best out of each student. The school follows the philosophy of Kurt Hahn, founder of Gordonstoun in Scotland: while placing academic work at the heart of a school, Hahn stressed the importance of an all-round education as a preparation for life.

We are seeking to appoint a well-qualified and enthusiastic temporary Teacher of Biology from September 2016. The right candidate will be able to teach up to and including Sixth Form (A level and/or IB) and have a clear vision of how to maximize achievement in our students and ensure that learning is an enriching and challenging experience for all. Being able to teach at least one other science up to GCSE would be an advantage, as would experience of/willingness to help in some classes of students who have English as a second language.

We aim to appoint colleagues who will involve themselves whole-heartedly within our community and who see teaching as a way of life, not just a job.
