Tes are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and inspirational Teacher of Biology on a full-time permanent basis from April 2021. This role is suitable for both experienced and newly qualified teachers.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a secondary school with VI Form provision in Leyton, East London that has been serving the community for 19 years since they opened in September 2001 and are proud of the impact they are making on the lives of young people. In December 2018, the school were delighted to join the an established Trust and are now part of a family of schools with a distinctive identity.
It is a family of ten primary and three secondary schools in the Midlands, London and South East. They have a strong track record in making schools much better for children and their families and for the staff who work with them. Their single most important mission is to provide the conditions in which children discover who they are and then go on confidently to take their places in society, making a contribution to the world through the use of their talents.
The department teaches combined and single sciences at GCSE and has a growing cohort of A level students. It is one of the few schools in the area with a sixth form. Most are 11-16 and feed their post 16 students into a local sixth form college. They established the Sixth Form in 2015 and are still expanding their offer and increasing their stay-on rate. The new Biologist will be experienced and must be able to teach Biology at GCSE and A Level. The ability to teach any other science to A Level would be an advantage.
