Job overview

Teacher of Boys PE (1-year fixed term)

We are seeking to appoint a dynamic and energetic PE Teacher to join our successful team from September 2022.  This is an exciting opportunity to join the largest school in Cambridgeshire, and one with outstanding facilities for PE and Sports.  These include a heated indoor swimming pool, a modern gymnasium, a £2.5 million sports hall completed in 2016, all-weather tennis courts, hard playing areas for netball and tennis, grass pitches and an oversized ‘3G’ all-weather playing surface.  The adjacent parkland is also used for a range of activities including cross-country running, orienteering, problem solving / team challenges and mountain biking.

The role will suit either an early career teacher or an experienced teacher looking for a new and exciting challenge. The school offers a bespoke CPD programme, research and development and the opportunity to deliver examination qualifications.

The successful candidate will join a collaborative strong team of 12 teachers and a PE technician.  From the moment you join us you will feel welcomed and supported by the whole school team ranging from ECTs through to highly experienced practitioners.

Teaching

The successful candidate will be expected to be an excellent classroom practitioner. Above all, they will be passionate about PE and Sport, enthusiastic about working with young people, and have a genuine concern for their own professional development as individuals.

The school sees the form tutor as a key role in the support, development and welfare of the students and teachers are expected to undertake this role with the same standards and commitment as their subject role.

Preliminary enquiries and visits are welcome – please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions about the post or would like to visit the school.  Please contact the Principal’s PA: Mrs Debbie Warner 01480 375675 dwarner@hbk.acesmat.uk

Interviews will be on Wednesday 25 May 2022
