Title: Teacher of Built Environment
We are looking for outstanding teachers to join our specialist team in September 2020. The role would be ideally suited to outstanding teachers of related subjects (for example: maths, DT, science, geography) or someone with a background in Construction (professional and technical roles) prior to working in education. Teaching in the specialist team is extremely rewarding and allows the chance to work closely with industry professionals to broaden the understanding and interests of our students in the world around them. We enjoy first class facilities and each teacher delivers lessons in fully resourced, modern and comfortable classrooms. As a teacher within the department, you will be highly effective in a classroom environment, passionate about helping young people succeed and have high expectations of yourself and others.
The role comes at an exciting time in the UTC development. With our expansion to take Y7 students in September 2020 and T-Levels delivery planned for 2021, it is a wonderful opportunity to be at the heart of technical education in the UK, supported by the Vice Principal and a committed and loyal team. The UTC has state of the art facilities and is extensively supported in its work by a large number of construction employers from across the West Midlands meaning students enjoy a regular encounters with employers each year.

We are proud to announce the inception of a new school from the Thomas Telford Multi Academy Trust opening to Year 7 students from September 2020, which will see the collaboration of the Outstanding Thomas Telford School with the West Midlands UTC, judged by Ofsted to be Good with Outstanding features. We believe that the strengths of the two schools will unite to offer our students a truly ground-breaking opportunity. Our first intake of Year 7 students will join our existing cohorts in Years 10 to 13 in September 2020.

Thomas Telford UTC will be situated in a brand new, purpose-built building in Wolverhampton city centre at the Springfield Campus. The UTC buildings form the first stage of the £100 million regeneration of the Springfield Campus led by the University of Wolverhampton to form a national centre of excellence for Architecture and the Built Environment.
