Job overview

Rochester Independent College is Kent’s no uniform, fresh alternative to traditional independent education from Year 7 to Sixth Form. All teaching takes place in informal mixed ability tutorial style groups. Our teachers are experts in their subjects and academically highly qualified. They are lively, motivational and enjoy the company of young people.

We require an experienced teacher of Business Studies from September 2018 to teach the subject at GCSE and A level. 

Accommodation may be available for candidates keen to become involved in the life of our residential community. 

RIC is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, and applicants will undergo appropriate child protection screening, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service.

RIC has its own salary scales and offers private medical care to all staff after one year of service and income protection insurance after two years of service. 

RIC does not require teaching staff to have QTS. We are able though to support newly qualified teachers in their induction year through the IStip programme.

About Rochester Independent College

Rochester Independent College is a fee-paying co-educational secondary with sixth form in Medway. There are 380 pupils on the school roll with 120 boarders. The college opened in 1984. The school’s mascot is the Flying Pig. The town of Rochester is located 30 miles away from London. The school operates minibus services across Kent. There is no uniform at the school, and teachers are addressed by their first names.
