Hazelwick is a high achieving and oversubscribed 11-18 mixed secondary school with over 1900 students aged 11 to 18, including over 380 students in our Sixth Form.

 

As one of the highest performing schools in West Sussex, with a Progress 8 score of +0.30, (2024) we have an unwavering focus on enabling our students to achieve their maximum potential.

Business at Hazelwick

 

·         is taught by a team of specialist, supportive and highly dedicated staff

·        is a popular subject at KS4 (Business GCSE) and at KS5 (Business A Level and Applied Business Certificate/Extended Certificate)

·         Economics is also taught within the department (KS5 only).  There may be a possibility of teaching economics for a suitably qualified applicant

 

For September 2026 we are looking for:

 

·      a specialist teacher who has the experience and ability to teach Business at KS4 and KS5.

·      a positive teacher who can enthuse, motivate and engage students and is committed to excellence and high student achievement

·      a teacher with a passion for working with young people and a perseverance to make a difference to them and their future

·      a teacher with a focus on their own professional development and a drive to work with us to become the best teacher they can be

·      applications from ECTs are welcome, who would benefit from our highly-praised professional studies and support programme. 

 

·      Hazelwick School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and communicates a clear framework to employees.  Safeguarding is a key aspect of every role and all staff must have read and be fully aware of the Child Protection Policy.  This post is subject to an Enhanced DBS check.

Hazelwick is in the excellent commuter location of Crawley, West Sussex, close to Gatwick Airport with great access and transport links via the M23 and Three Bridges railway station to London, East Croydon, Brighton and the South Coast.  Many of our staff travel to Crawley from Brighton – we are the first school on the train line from Brighton to attract the Fringe Area allowance.

We have a wonderfully spacious and well maintained school site with extensive playing fields covering an area of 23 acres.
