The Science department at Harrodian is driven by a team of passionate and talented individuals who are now seeking an equally committed Chemistry specialist to join us in September 2025, or earlier for the right candidate. Whether with a few years of teaching under their belt or a seasoned professional seeking a fresh challenge, the successful candidate should be well-qualified, highly motivated and have an active interest in educational technology (EdTech).
We offer both AQA GCSE Separate Science and Combined Science Trilogy, as well as the AQA A-Level Biology, Chemistry and Physics courses. We are continually developing our range of teaching resources, including our tech-driven materials for the optimum use of student iPads within lessons. Practical work is integral to our science teaching, and we provide a diverse range of opportunities for pupils to develop their skills in our seven well-equipped laboratories.
As a committed member of the team, the successful candidate will contribute to the planning, teaching and assessment within the department. In addition, an interest in delivering co-curricular Science and assisting in extended curricular events, such as our annual Science Week program and science-related trips, is key in our dynamic and vibrant school, allowing students to indulge in their interest and be inspired.
We have seven well-equipped laboratories and are continually developing our range of teaching resources within the department. Practical work is a key aspect of science teaching and we endeavour to provide a range of exciting opportunities for pupils to develop their skills. Our annual Science Fair allows our Year 7 pupils to indulge their love of science as they plan and carry out their own investigations. We are looking for a teacher who consistently models excellent practice and can make a significant contribution to this strong and successful department.
Founded in 1993, the Harrodian School is co-educational and set in 25 acres of grounds with excellent facilities. Working hours
This is a full-time, permanent position. Working hours during term time are: Mondays from 8.00am to 5.00pm and Tuesdays to Fridays from 8.15am to 5.00pm.

The Harrodian School is a mixed, non-denominational all-through independent day school situated in Barnes, South West London. The Harrodian School was founded by Lady Eliana and Sir Alford Houston-Boswell and opened in 1993. The school’s original intake of 65 students has expanded to over 900 students from the ages of 4-18.
