We are seeking to appoint an inspirational Teacher of Chemistry to join our established and thriving Chemistry department.
Longsands Academy is a successful 11-18 comprehensive school rated as good by Ofsted in October 2014. St Neots is a market town with good facilities, within easy reach of Cambridge and with excellent transport links to London.
We have a very strong Science faculty and our Chemistry department’s A-level summer results ranked number one (of seventeen) schools in Cambridgeshire (for progress) and was in the top 4% of schools nationally (for attainment).
The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic teacher able to deliver Chemistry up to A level. There may be opportunity for future progression to a TLR role once established in the position. They will be joining an energetic and committed Science team, which encourages and promotes teamwork, professional development and continuous improvement. Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Applied Science are extremely popular A level choices year on year, and the influence of Science is high across the academy.
Applications welcome from either experienced or newly qualified teachers. Longsands has an excellent track record of supporting and retaining NQT's through an extensive programme of support, coaching and development.
At Longsands, you can expect a supportive culture within a Trust with very high aspirations. We value our staff and there are many development opportunities within the Partnership. All teachers receive an i-Pad or laptop to assist with planning and communications. There is a fully equipped gym available for staff use. A relocation allowance and Trust owned accommodation at reduced rent may also be available for those moving to the area.
Application documents may be downloaded from the Longsands Academy website http://www.longsands.cambs.sch.uk and completed applications should be emailed to HRlongsands@longsands.cambs.sch.uk
The closing date for applications is 16th October. Interviews will be held on 19th October.
The St Neots Learning Partnership is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people and we expect all staff to share this commitment. Applicants are thanked for their interest in this post. Please note that only the candidates shortlisted for interview will be contacted.
