Job overview

Itchen Sixth Form College is looking to appoint, from September 2017, a teacher of Chemistry to teach A level, ideally with experience of also teaching A level Physics, for a highly academic Chinese school in the Guangzhou region in China. 

You will be teaching year one A level classes to groups of Chinese students at the school in China. A willingness to provide pedagogic support and training in teaching A levels to Chinese colleagues would be desirable. You should also possess a relevant teaching qualification and have evidence of on-going academic development. 

You will be considered an employee of Itchen Sixth Form College and receive our support and help. The College will pay the salary, NI contributions and employer’s pension contributions. Accommodation will be provided (free) by the school. The College will provide one return flight to China from the UK per academic year.

Itchen College is a mixed, non-selective, non-denominational further education college in Hampshire, serving students from the age of 16-19. The college, situated in Southampton has approximately 1,558 learners on record.

Itchen College was founded in 1906 as a co-educational secondary school and later Itchen Grammar School. It welcomes learners from across the world, with 10% making up international students. Facilities on the campus include a sports centre, performing arts block – features Apple Mac suites, recording studios and soundproof music rooms, and a Student Centre for students to relax in during their study breaks.
