Allestree Woodlands School is an extremely successful, oversubscribed 11-18 school, providing high quality education for 1355 students (246 Post-16). The site has just undergone major development so all of the facilities are new and this includes nine fully equipped laboratories. The school is situated on the northern edge of Derby City overlooking ‘greenbelt’ areas and is easily accessible. The Faculty consists of General Science at Key Stage 3, Combined Science, Biology, Chemistry and Physics at Key Stages 4 (AQA) and Biology (OCR A), Environmental Science (AQA), Chemistry (AQA) and Physics (AQA) being extremely popular at Key Stage 5. The science department is a high attaining faculty and the school has seen consistent and increasingly impressive progress in this area. A significant number of our A-level students go on to follow medicine or science related degrees at top universities including Oxford and Cambridge.
We are looking for a talented, dynamic and ambitious, part-time Chemistry Teacher for a 0.6 permanent contract for a September 2019 start.
The successful applicant should be innovative, able to inspire students from a variety of backgrounds, set high standards of teaching and learning and be willing to continue in their professional development. The successful applicant will join a very committed, friendly, collaborative, forward thinking and successful team. The school offers a very personal and professional supportive environment.
