Job overview

We are a well-equipped, purpose built Catholic Secondary School situated in a pleasant suburban area to the North-East of Nottingham.  We strive to ensure that each young person is safe, happy and successful and we pride ourselves on providing an excellent educational experience.  Does this sound like somewhere you would like to work?

Are you an enthusiastic and motivated Teacher of Science?  Our Science department is committed to raising the profile of Science, stimulating all students’ interest and enthusiasm for the subject.  We are looking to appoint a colleague who will help us inspire students and be actively committed to innovative teaching and learning. In this varied role you may be expected to teach all aspects of Science at KS3. All students follow GCSE courses at KS4, including separate Science GCSEs, and we offer all Science specialisms at A level.  To be successful you must be able to teach Chemistry to Post 16.

As either an experienced or newly qualified teacher you will be forward thinking, committed to developing students confidence and want to work within a team that inspires and encourages students to develop a love of Science.  This is a temporary role until 31 August 2020.

We are a welcoming and inclusive school that welcomes applications from all faiths and none.

Our school is part of the Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Multi-Academy Trust which brings together the 21 Catholic Primary and Secondary schools in Nottingham City and Nottinghamshire.  Our priority is to ensure the very best Catholic Education for all young people in our community, whatever their circumstances. We will achieve this together, through a strategic approach to sharing best practice, effective challenge and support from a central standards and performance team and opportunities for high quality Continuing Professional Development offered by the CMAT’s teaching school, The Nottingham Catholic Teaching School Alliance.

Our Lady of Lourdes is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.  If successful, you will undertake pre-employment checks which will include a Disclosure and Baring Service check.

One of the main advantages of being a smaller that average secondary school is that we are small enough to create and maintain a caring, sharing Catholic ethos within the school whilst being large enough to give a wide range of curriculum and other opportunities to all of our students.
