Teacher of Classics and Latin from September 2019
The School seeks to appoint, from September 2019, a full-time, bright and enthusiastic Teacher of Classics and Latin to join our successful, significantly oversubscribed and expanding school.
The successful candidate will be expected to teach a full Latin and Classical Civilisation timetable from Year 7 to Advanced level with a variety of mixed ability classes.
Applicants must have a strong academic background and an enthusiasm for the subject, which will be reflected not only in their passion for teaching, but also in their interest in assisting with extra-curricular activities related to the Faculty. The successful applicant will need to deliver a range of lessons following a detailed scheme of work and will be expected to contribute to the extra-curricular life of the school.
As part of the Languages Faculty, the Classics and Latin Department makes an important and wide-ranging contribution to the QEGS curriculum and we are committed to supporting its continuing development.
Applicants must have a good, relevant degree and have a PGCE.
QEGS has a pay scale above CPS and remuneration will be set according to qualifications and experience. All teachers are members of the Teachers’ Pension Scheme. A willingness to contribute to the extra-curricular life of the school is expected.
