Bournemouth School for Girls is a selective girls’ grammar school with some 1100 pupils, including 300 in the Sixth Form.  At our most recent OFSTED inspection we were identified as ‘outstanding’.  We are also a forward looking school – we are a member of the South West Academic Trust, a group of grammar schools in the region working together with Exeter University.  Academically we are amongst the top 100 schools in the country.

We are looking for a Teacher of Computer Science to join our school with effect from September 2020.  This will provide an exciting and challenging opportunity to build upon the existing high standards of computing and ICT teaching.   The successful candidate will work closely with the Head of Computer Science.

Bournemouth School for Girls is a selective secondary grammar school located in Bournemouth, Dorset.  With around 1100 pupils on roll, including 300 in the Sixth Form, Bournemouth School for Girls is larger than the average secondary grammar. The school converted to academy status in 2011, and is now part of the South West Academic Trust. The trust includes a large number of grammar schools across the region, and is directly affiliated with Exeter University. The school can boast of a wide range of facilities, including large playing fields shared with a local boys’ school.

As a selective institution, the school sets a high academic standard for entry. Potential applicants are expected to pass a number of tests - Mathematics, English and Verbal Reasoning.  Entrance to the Sixth Form is open to external applications, pending GCSE results. The school itself offers a high-quality academic curriculum for its students, supported both by strong facilities and proper careers guidance.
