The British International School of Stockholm wishes to employ a qualified, enthusiastic and dedicated Computer Science/ICT teacher. The ability / willingness to teach a second subject within Key Stage 3, or to support and develop ICT use by teachers in other subjects, would be an advantage.

The successful candidates will:

  • have proven experience of teaching Computer Science/ICT from Year 7 to 11 (essential)
  • have knowledge and experience of teaching Computer Science/ICT  up to Year 13 IBDP (desirable)
  • have the ability / willingness to teach a second subject within Key Stage 3 (desirable)
  • have the ability to share outstanding practice and develop/support  other colleagues
  • demonstrate creative and enthusiastic approach both in and out of the classroom
  • be skilled in using digital tools for teaching (example: G Suite for Education, Touch Screen boards and Chromebooks)
  • be a reflective practitioner and embrace opportunities for continuous professional learning

In addition, applicants should:

  • be a fully qualified teacher (UK BEd or PGCE with relevant degree, or hold the equivalent recognised teaching qualifications from other countries)
  • have a minimum two years’ relevant teaching experience
  • be a fluent English speaker

The School

The British International School of Stockholm is situated across a split site in Djursholm, a beautiful suburb of Stockholm. The school caters for the Nursery to Year 13 age range and enjoys an excellent reputation for both its academic progress and achievement, and its pastoral care. BISS is a vibrant and highly successful school of over 500 children from 40 different countries. Meeting internationally recognised standards of excellence, the school is an accredited member of COBIS (the Council of British International Schools) and received an excellent BSO inspection report.

In Secondary, BISS uses objectives from Cambridge Secondary and English National Curriculum, followed by Cambridge IGCSE courses for Years 10 and 11. We offer the IB Diploma for Years 12 and 13.
