Job overview

We seek to appoint a qualified, driven and successful Teacher of Computer Science for Maternity Cover (will be asked to cover lessons in other curriculum areas where necessary).

The Governing Body is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment. This appointment is subject to an Enhanced DBS check, positive references and stringent safer recruitment protocols.  The suitability of the candidate will be assessed throughout the recruitment process

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced or newly qualified teacher who has a passion for the subject,  inspires students and  teaches creatively using a range of software available. You will be teaching using the new updated computers where all students have access to a computer. You will have evidence of excellent classroom practice, behaviour management and high expectations of pupil attainment and progress.

The Computer Science department prides themselves on their students’ successes, friendly learning environment and innovative teaching.

We deliver Computer Science at KS3 and follow the OCR courses for both GCSE and A-Level. We also provide Cambridge Technicals IT through OCR at KS5.

The Department is extremely successful with many students continuing to stay on from GCSE to A-level but also pursuing their passion for Computer Science at university level.

Students are keen to develop their programming, computational thinking and problem solving skills and are extremely keen on the extra-curricular activities available through the department.

We expect that you will have evidence of excellent classroom practice and high expectations of pupil attainment and, if  overseas trained, we would need evidence  that  your professional qualifications are recognised by NARIC / NTA in the UK.
