We are now looking for a Computer Science Teacher at Maiden Erlegh School in Reading. The subjects are increasingly popular with students and the take up at GCSE has been good.  We primarily teach coding skills using Python 3 as our primary GCSE language, however, others are taught in the Foundation Stage. At KS4, we offer AQA Computer Science and OCR Cambridge iMedia. 

The Department has three main computer rooms, all with printers, interactive whiteboards and approximately 25 machines in each room.  Additional computer facilities are available around the school site, along with the Follow Me printer facility.  

We are a Google Classroom school and use SIMS and Netsupport to support our classroom computer management and monitoring within all computer rooms.  The school provides Office 365 accounts for staff and students. We utilise Classcharts to support our praise and sanctions system and to set homework.

About Maiden Erlegh School in Reading

In January 2014, a bid from Maiden Erlegh Trust to the Department for Education to open a new school in the East Reading area was successful. The central proposition of the bid was to open a new school that shared the ethos, culture and values of the well-established Maiden Erlegh School in Earley, Reading, Berkshire.

We proudly opened Maiden Erlegh School in Reading to its first Year 7 students in September 2015.
