At Thornaby Academy we aim to provide an exciting and inspirational environment for young people to learn and succeed.  The staff at the Academy work closely as a team to support and guide our young people as they experience a diverse and challenging curriculum which will provide them with every opportunity to achieve their personal best.

The Academy has an immediate opening for an excellent teacher who will be welcomed in to an enthusiastic team of teachers. The successful candidate will be determined to make a significant difference to the standards of teaching and learning in this crucial area of the curriculum.

Computer Science at Thornaby Academy is taught as part of the Curriculum at key stage 3 and as a popular option subject at key stage 4. Students in key stage 4 follow the OCR exam specification. We are seeking an individual who not only has a proven track record in the classroom, but who is committed to improving the life chances of the young people who attend the Academy.

A retention incentive is available for the successful candidate. This is a £1,000 payment at the end of the first and second years of employment with the Academy. A relocation package of up to £1,000 is also available.

Salary: Teachers Main Scale or UPS plus retention payment of £1000 after 12 and 24 months

Start date: January 2018 or sooner

Contract Type: Full-time
