From September 2022, Kingsbury Green Academy needs an outstanding, motivated and dedicated Teacher of Computer Studies, to join our vibrant, innovative and forward thinking Enterprise and Creative department with excellent results.

The ideal candidate will have superb subject knowledge and a passion for teaching. 

The Enterprise and Creative Technology team teach a diverse range of courses including Creative iMedia, Computer Science and Digital Media.

We welcome applications from all excellent classroom practitioners, particularly those who are keen to inspire students through exciting lessons, implementing creative and personalised activities and supporting progress through high quality assessment and feedback.

Job requirements:  

  • Lesson planning and effective delivery to meet the needs of all learners. 
  • Assessment and recording of achievement. 
  • Managing the classroom and resources effectively in order to create a safe, stimulating and positive learning environment for all students. 
  • To maintain positive discipline and promote the well-being and progress of students, providing guidance and advice. 
  • Monitoring patterns of attendance and punctuality. 
  • To engage fully with professional development activities. 
  • Developing positive relationships with colleagues, parents and students, maintaining effective lines of communication.

The right candidate will have 

  • Superb subject knowledge. 
  • Be an inspiring and enthusiastic Teacher of Computer Studies. 
  • Relevant A Levels (or equivalent) and degree. 
  • Qualified Teacher status. 
  • Have a passion for innovation and teaching at all key stages. 
  • Work as a role model and team member to deliver teaching and learning so that students continue to be engaged and motivated. 
  • Work as a team member to deliver teaching and learning so that students continue to be aspirational, engaged and motivated. 
  • Be an excellent communicator who develops positive relationships with students and staff alike. 
  • To work with colleagues projecting a consistent approach to our dealings with the students, parents and all concerned with Kingsbury Green Academy.  
  • Well – presented. 
  • Legal ability to work in the UK.

Kingsbury Green Academy, which is part of the successful Ascend Learning Trust, opened its doors for the first time on the 5th of September 2019. We are an ambitious, forward thinking 11-18 Academy situated in a beautiful location on the outskirts of Calne in Wiltshire.

OUR FACILITIES

The school has superb facilities which include: 13 Science Labs, a Design and Technology complex, digital media centre and the latest computer-aided design and ICT facilities.

Sport is important at Kingsbury Green and we enjoy a sports hall, gymnasium, tennis courts and 33 acres of sports fields, as well as the use of the neighbouring ‘Calne Community Campus.'

The Arts are supported with Art and Design studios, a photography dark room and processing facilities, fully equipped Drama studios and three purpose-built music rooms with practice rooms for instrumental tuition.

We also have a cafeteria with outdoor covered eating area, gardens, an on-site nursery (babies to pre-school) and a purpose-built Sixth Form Centre.

OUR LOCATION

Our Campus is set on the edge of town, with views across the beautiful rolling Wiltshire countryside.

Calne offers a great rural quality of life but is not far from other nearby towns and the M4, giving easy access to Bristol and to the South West. Wiltshire is home to the World Heritage Site of Stonehenge and boasts many other sites of historical interest.

Calne is some 19 miles east of Bath, 6 miles east of Chippenham, 13 miles west of Marlborough and 16 miles south west of Swindon.
