Required from September or April 2020

Cromwell Community College, a member of the Active Learning Trust, is a good school which aspires to be outstanding. We want our Computing Faculty to be a driving force towards this aspiration.

We are looking to appoint an inspirational computing teacher to assist in delivery of outstanding lessons within the computing team at Cromwell Community College.

You should have excellent subject knowledge and a passion to teach computing to KS3, and ICT or computer science at KS4.  Some ability to teach business would also be beneficial.  Some KS5 teaching may be available to the right candidate.

We are a popular, oversubscribed and successful school.  We are currently undergoing a large expansion of the secondary phase by 1FE, but we will also become the first all-through (3-18) school in Cambridgeshire in 2020.  It is imperative that we ensure our pupils access a curriculum which is relevant and ambitious throughout their journey at Cromwell.

At Cromwell, our staff are determined, resourceful and tireless in their pursuit of the best outcomes for all pupils.  Staff are hardworking, enthusiastic and committed.  This is an excellent time to join the faculty to support the college’s drive to become outstanding.

If you are enthusiastic, ambitious and passionate about computing and recognise its importance for the development of all pupils, and will strive to provide excellent results in our already successful faculty, we would like to hear from you.

We would welcome applications from newly qualified teachers seeking to begin or further their career with us.

Cromwell Community College offers the chance to join a strong and experienced team and for you to develop your skills and enhance your career development through a wealth of CPD opportunities which is a particular strength of the Trust.

The Academy and the Trust are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children and young people.  We expect all staff to actively share this commitment.  All appointments will be subject to the taking of satisfactory references and enhanced criminal record clearance in line with the need to create and maintain a safe culture in our recruitment.

Applicants are thanked for their interest in Cromwell Community College.  Please note that only candidates shortlisted for interview will be contacted.  We are unable to accept CVs.

Vision and values

Cromwell Community College has the following core values: care, whereby pupils are encouraged to care not just for themselves but also those around them; respect, whereby tolerance of all cultures and belief systems is considered paramount; and community, whereby students are urged to take pride in their surroundings and their school.

The secondary school works hard to provide for students with special educational needs, of whom there are an above-average number.

Ofsted report

Pupils enjoy a wide choice of subjects suited to their abilities and interests. The most able pupils are steered towards three sciences, humanities and foreign languages to enable more of them to gain the English Baccalaureate (EBacc) qualification. A small proportion of less-able pupils follow a curriculum matched to their needs and abilities in order to develop their literacy and numeracy, promote their social skills and study qualifications suited to the workplace.”
