Tes are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and inspirational Teacher of Computing/iMedia on a full-time permanent basis from September 2021. Both experienced and newly qualified teachers are encouraged to apply.

PLEASE NOTE: There will also be a possibility of a TLR for the right candidate to lead the Computing Faculty.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a 'Good' mixed, non-selective, non-denominational secondary school with sixth form in Staffordshire serving students from the age of 11-18. The secondary school, situated in Rugeley has approximately 832 students on record. The school encourages students to be independent and proactive learners, with the motto: “design and shape your world”, guiding them to believe that they can achieve whatever they put their mind to.

The school are seeking a motivated and inspiring teacher who is a specialist in ICT/IMedia and will be able to teach their specialism to students of all abilities up to A Level / Level 3 with a track record of successful outcomes at level 2 and 3. Students recruitment in both subjects are high at KS4 and KS5. Candidates will need excellent planning skills, good classroom management and be able to teach in a variety of teaching and learning styles.

The Successful Candidates:

  • Qualified to degree level or above
  • Qualified teacher
  • Experience of raising attainment in a challenging classroom environment
  • Experience of reflecting on and improving teaching practice to increase student achievement
  • Evidence of continually improving the teaching and learning of their subject though schemes of work and extra-curricular activities
  • Thorough and up to date knowledge of curriculum area
  • Understanding of the strategies needed to establish consistently high aspirations and standards of results and behaviour
