Job overview

We are seeking to appoint a suitably experienced and motivated teacher to join the Applied Learning Team delivering theory and practical lessons in construction and the construction industry as a whole, teaching 14-18 year old full-time students.

We currently deliver the BTEC level 2 course and are looking to develop and expand into the City and Guilds Diploma course with the right candidate. The BTEC construction course consists of a number of practical and theory based units, covering the industry as a whole and specialising in the following practical units: roofing, brickwork, and carpentry.

You will ideally have City and Guilds assessor levels 1 and 2 qualifications to support with delivering the diploma; level 3 would be desirable.

We are ideally looking for someone with experience in woodwork and/or in the brickwork area. Depending on the skills of the successful applicant part of the role will require you to deliver and support other practical areas.

While teaching, assessor and verifier qualifications would be desirable they are not essential. A candidate with construction experience and the ability to encourage young people in their learning is essential. Applicants must have evidence and certificates of trade and other relevant qualifications.

We are an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from all members of the community. Homewood School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all employees to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be asked to apply for an Enhanced CRB Disclosure.
