Job overview

A dynamic, well-qualified graduate specialist is required part-time (0.7) to join our Curriculum Support department. Skills must include a wide knowledge of a range of SPLDs and disabilities. You will consult and work closely with the Head of Curriculum Support and other members of the Curriculum Support team to respond appropriately to referrals for students with potential learning difficulties and teach literacy support and study skills.

The successful candidate should hold, or be willing to train for, Qualified Teacher status and either hold or be willing to work towards the Level 7 OCR Diploma in Assessing and Teaching Learners with Specific Learning Difficulties, or equivalent. 

The School uses one-to-one technology to enhance teaching and learning.

King Edward VI School is a leading HMC Independent day school for children aged 11 – 18. King Edward’s is a school with a long and distinguished history and it has been at the heart of Southampton for over 460 years. The School has occupied 4 different sites, relocating to the purpose built site on Hill Lane in 1938. It became fully independent in 1979 and co-educational in 1994.
