Teacher of D&T (GCSE Product Design and/or Systems & Control Electronics)

UTC Derby Pride Park opened in December 2019 and provides a new and dynamic education. We are looking to recruit a suitably qualified teacher who can support the delivery of Product Design and/or Systems and Control, the ability to contribute to the Engineering specialism would be an advantage. You will work alongside the staff team to further develop a centre of excellence focusing on Engineering & Manufacturing along with Health & Life Sciences.  Under the direction of the Curriculum Director you will support the delivery of a range of qualifications.  These include primarily GCSE Product Design and Cambridge L2 National Certificates in Engineering Design and Systems and Control. Additional qualifications offered within the faculty include; Cambridge National Certificates in Engineering Manufacturing, and the BTEC Level 3 in Engineering Diploma at Post-16. The ability or willingness to upskill to support the delivery of these additional qualifications is an advantage.

You will be a highly skilled practitioner who understands the challenges of educating 13-19 year olds in an employer-led technology-rich environment.  Effective partnership working is absolutely critical to the UTC’s success.
