Job overview

We are looking for a talented and innovative teacher to join a dedicated team of teachers in specialist accommodation, which incorporates the subjects of Dance, Drama, Media and Music.  The ability to teach Dance to Key Stage 3 & 4 is essential, and to KS5 is highly desired.

We are looking for a creative, passionate and energetic teacher who can work with us as we strive to bring about rapid improvement to secure better progress for our learners.

The successful candidate will be a highly committed team player, with a true passion for Dance and an understanding of the strategies required to motivate and inspire students. They will play a part in promoting the subject throughout the school.

This is an exciting time to be joining the school. We have secured positive outcomes and results have improved; this has been reflected in our recent OFSTED inspection (July 2021) where we were graded ‘Good’ in all five areas.  We continue our journey to excellence and require a Senior Leader to join our team who demonstrates a resolute and steadfast determination in all that they do, as a role model to our school community. 

The Ferrers School is part of the supportive, collaborative, values-led and expanding Cambridge Meridian Academies Trust, a group of primary, special schools and secondary schools.  CMAT is an all-through and all-inclusive Trust.  

CMAT supports teachers to access the National Professional Qualifications (NPQs) for Senior Leaders (NPQSL and NPQH).  We are able to offer this excellent professional development opportunity for those interested.

The Ferrers School is a mainstream secondary academy for children aged 11-18. It is situated in Higham Ferrers, Northamptonshire, and there are just under 1,000 pupils on its roll.
